Sulfur Flour

Maroon Group - CARE

Whereas sulfur is usually found in sulfide or sulfate mineral form rather than its pure crystalline form, the applications for a high purity, finely-ground sulfur in agricultural, industrial, electronic, and commercial manufacturing are as abundant as the yellow element itself. Sulfur flour is typically used in the manufacture of sulfuric acid for general industrial purposes, but as a component of silicon wafer cleaning or dip the quality of the sulfur must be extremely pure to prevent unwanted contamination from impurities. Technology grade sulfur flour is highly sought after, and requires very stringent filtration and sifting protocols to ensure that no impurities are present. In the medical industry, pharmaceutical grade sulfur flour is used in the treatment of skin conditions such as acne vulgaris, acne rosacea, seborrhoeic dermatitis, and the elimination of skin parasites such as scabies mites. In the food industry, sulfur flour is also used to produce small quantities of sulfur dioxide gas, which is then infused into fermented wine to produce trace amounts of sulfurous acid and sulfite salts.
